OTHER SECTORS

Aluminium is used in all main sectors, from the most sophisticated ones, such as electronics and the aerospace industry, to the more common ones, like for the production of doors and windows, as well as car wheels. Aluminium can be applied to such a wide variety of sectors thanks to its specific technological qualities: lightness (one-third of steel weight), electrical conductivity (only copper performs better) and thermal conductivity. These mechanical characteristics are enhanced by the possibility to form a variety of alloys, resistance to atmospheric agents, plasticity, deformability, inalterability when in contact with food (and almost all liquids) and, last but not least, its undeniable aesthetic and colour qualities that confer to objects made of aluminium a unique and appealing hi-tech look.

In addition to the automotive sector, aluminium is also widely used in the white goods, telecommunications and electricity sectors.
